I will try to spotlight some of the top performances as stats roll out each week.  I want to encourage all players to keep up with your highlights and share them with me as the season goes on.  Official stats must come from coaches or documented in Maxpreps.

Week 1 nominees posted some good opening week games.

Caden Henley for Bonner Springs was brilliant in a 56-0 win over the Turner Golden Bears.  He had 4 receptions for 63 yards and 2 TD’s, 4 tackles, 2 PD’s, 180 PR yards and punt return TD.  243 all purpose yards and 3 TD’s along with work put in on defense makes him a top performer for week 1.

TaVaughn Sappington for Sumner Academy kicked open the door in KCK and ran rough shot through the Harmon defense.  The senior racked up 229 yards on the ground with 2 rushing TD’s.  He also patrolled the Sumner Academy secondary collecting an INT.

SHUKC Player of the Week

Ivan Webb of Schlagle took the opening play of 2017 80 yards for a TD.  We can’t judge too much off one week but going for 375 yards and 2 TD’s is not easy to ignore.  Webb showed speed, vision and power as he weaved his way through the Southeast defense.  Check out his week 1 performance below.
