2017 SHUKC Player of the Week (Week 4)

by David Brox, davidbrox@shukc.com

Another week in the books and more top performances sticking out like sore thumbs.  There is little drama on who is going to be our Week 4 player of the week.  I do however want to make sure I acknowledge some other solid performances.

Taye Helms was able to grind out 99 yards and 2 TD’s in 12-0 bruiser against Wyandotte.  Helms now has 405 yards on the season with 5 TD’s.

Korbin Riedel ran like a man possessed against Bonner Springs.  The Chieftains literally just ran over the Braves in route to their home win.  Korbin carried 29 times for 164 and a TD.

I need to show some serious love to the Basehor-Linwood defense.  I am not going to have a parade or another but shutting out 4 teams is an impressive feat.  I watched some of the film and they are dominant on defense.  Keeping it real the competition is not what they are going to see the rest of the way BUT I won’t completely dismiss it.  I am coming to watch first hand against Bonner Springs who can toss the ball around a bit.

Jaelon Harley of Turner was back in action against Bishop Ward.  He went nuts rushing for 4 TD’s and passing for another.  Just under 300 yards and 5 TD’s is a good night for sure.

SHUKC Player of the Week

No disrespect but the film doesn’t lie.  Friday night it looked like Webb was running against the computer on Rookie mode in Madden.  377 yards and 7 TD’s makes Ivan Webb our SHUKC Player of the Week.  His second win of the season.

Week 1: Ivan Webb (Schlagle)

Week 2: Jaylin Richardson (Turner)

Week 3: Brody Flaming (Mill Valley)

Week 4: Ivan Webb (Schlagle)
