2017 SHUKC Player Spotlight (Tylen Wallace of Schlagle)

by David Brox, davidbrox@shukc.com

Schlagle senior Tylen Wallace is winding down on a stand out high school career.  He plays RT on a line that has produced soon to be back to back 2000 yard rushers in Cornelius Ruff and Ivan Webb.  Wallace is also a major threat on the defensive side of the ball as he was a SHUKC Defensive POY finalist in 2016.  The word is out as Wallace hasn’t posted the sack totals as he did last year but 38 tackles and 9 TFL on a flat stingy defense is a solid contribution.  When the word is out and you get chipped and double teamed a lot it allows the overall defense to flourish.  The Schlagle defense is giving up just over 11 points a game and obviously a major contribution to their 6-0 record.

Dominating on both sides of the ball through out his career should get him some post season award looks.  25 games played in his career, 20 sacks and 20 tackles for loss.
