I caught some kind of bug yesterday afternoon.  Had to walk out of meeting and head home and by the time 5:30 rolled around I was out of it.  I am disappointed I didn’t make it to the Wash House last night to see the games.  All reports were that it was a very good game.

Washington defeated Schlagle 60-57 in overtime.  All accounts were that Demarco Smith and Tyon Grant-Foster were amazing for both sides.

Sumner Academy held on to beat a pesky Atchison squad 67-66.  Taye Helms is an all league performer I don’t care what their record ends up being.  The young man is leading his team in scoring in most games.  Happy birthday to DiCarlo Jackson who scored 17 including the game clinching free throws.  The Sabres made 12 3’s but were under 50% from the free throw line.  Proud of the Sabres for how they have been competing the last few weeks despite the woahs from the line

The question now for Schlagle and Washington is if they are going to slip up the rest of the way.  The rest of the league will no doubt be looking to play spoiler.

Schlagle (6-1) – Home against Atchison, At Wyandotte and Sumner Academy
Washington (5-1) – At Wyandotte and Harmon, Home against Wyandotte and Sumner Academy

Girls:

Schlagle moved to 14-2 on the season defeating Washington 60-30.
