Sumner Academy Falls to Washington

In a great showing, Jalen Taylor​ scored 15 points, but this was not enough as Sumner fell to Washington 72-57. With 15 points in the third quarter, Washington added to their existing lead. Taylor led Sumner Academy’s offense, going 6-for-14 (43%) from the field while also sinking 75% (3-for-4) of free throws attempted.

Two other players also added ten or more points for the Sabres. Saadique Perkins​ racked up 14 points and Derek Sykes​ had 12 points. Also chipping in for Sumner Academy were Shaun Rainey​ (9 points, 2 rebounds, 1 steal), Theron Sanders​ (4 points, 1 rebound) and De’Auan McClaine​ (3 points).

Sumner Academy Sabres Varsity finished the game with 31 rebounds (15 offensive/16 defensive), four blocks and seven steals.
