The KCAL boys race is as clear as mud as it stands right now but by the end of the week there should be a cleansing of the water.

Sumner Academy doesn’t have time to wallow in their loss against the Atchison Redmen.  It would have been ideal to hold onto that halftime lead but if you sit around trying to clean up spilled milk on the road, you might slip up again.  The Sabres have a huge matchup with the Harmon Hawks on Tuesday.  The Hawks have elbowed their way back into the race with their winning streak.  The Hawks are a game back of the Sabres and have to protect the Hawks Nest.

The Washington Wildcats get to play Wyandotte who has crumbled a bit late in the season.  The Wildcats can not afford a slip up against the Bulldogs.  With a victory and a Harmon win against Sumner Academy the Wildcats would find themselves back in control of the league.  They have a huge rematch with Sumner Academy Friday night.

Atchison travels to Schlagle and either team can take another loss.  We could almost view this one as an elimination game of sorts as the league season comes into the final stretch.

In the KVL there is still a bit of intrigue with Basehor-Linwood, Bonner Springs and Mill Valley still with in shouting distance of a league crown.  Mill Valley who stands just 1 game behind Bonner Springs and Basehor-Linwood get to play both teams the final few weeks.  The way they shoot the ball certainly gives them an opportunity to do just that.  The Jaguars hold the keys to the KVL and it comes to a head quickly for Bonner Springs tomorrow night as they travel to Mill Valley.

This is not to say that Mill Valley themselves couldn’t get knocked off at Piper Friday but if Bonner Springs or Basehor-Linwood don’t want to share then they have to beat Mill Valley.  There are a lot of games and dangerous teams.  Bonner for example should not be sleeping on Turner who is improving and gave Mill Valley all they wanted this past Friday.

Should be a fun few weeks!!
